996 or 955?

In support of the 996 concept Jack Ma recently said "If you cannot work from 9 am to 9 pm, 6 days a week, do not think of joining Ali Baba"

This called for a lot of backlash from the Chinese industry and globally too

Entrepreneurs (most of them) expect employees to deliver 996 but is it doing them any good?

Are we more productive if we work longer hours?

Look at this example of a Starbucks cup on the recent episode of GOT that has spurned a thousand memes

GOT has got to be one of the grandest show ever if not the Grandest with thousands of technicians and actors involved & yet

That CUP on the table while filming the shoot was missed by every single person on the set

Not only the 100's of technicians, the directors or the actors missed it but also the post production and editing

Imagine the number of people it skipped!

I don't know how many hours these guys were working endlessly to shoot the greatest series ever but yes there are relentless hours involved from what I have read

Mark Manson, the famous author of the book , The subtle Art of not giving a F*ck says we humans are at our productive best in the first 2-3 hours and then there is a diminishing returns of marginal utility on our productivity

So is 996 really productive or would 955 deliver better output?
