Destiny has the best plan!

In early 2008, I joined the marketing team to work in the cards division at one of the largest global banks

It was a dream role for an aspiring marketer still fresh out of college

But as soon as I joined, the head of the business was leaving so there was restructuring to happen & this role was put on hold

The head of marketing met me after a couple of weeks of my joining & asked me if I would move to digital marketing (which was a much smaller role comparatively then)

There were just 40 Million internet users in India, a digital penetration of just 4.5% then, so digital was not fancied as a career option by many

I had dreamed of the marketing role especially in the cards division for so long

I spoke to a friend in Australia who was a consultant with one of the leading consulting firms globally. He shared a white paper on the evolution of digital marketing globally

After reading that white paper, I made up my mind to move to digital marketing & 12 years later I couldn't be more thankful

When I connect the dots looking back, it reminds me of Harivansh Rai Bachan's poem,

“Mann ka ho toh accha, na ho toh aur accha”

If life is moving against your wish then it is God who is planning it.

His plans are always better than yours!

Trust them!
