I was working as a Senior Manager in 2014 and he was the CEO of the fastest growing financial aggregator in India

He had come to meet the CEO and the board and I was escorting him to the boardroom

We were bursting the charts for Term plan sales and it had been a great year for both of us

Once at the board room, he asked me, "Sourav what do you think next year will be like? Do you think the market will get saturated or do you think there will be enough pool of new buyers joining in"?

I was surprised. Here was the CEO of a probable unicorn which just raised Series C funding from Tiger Global & he cared about my opinion? I was just happy he knew my name!

None the less I started sharing my view on the growing Google trend reports that suggested humongous uptick for term insurance & existing poor penetration rates. I had to stop short since d meeting was to start

Post d meeting (3 hrs later) he walked up to my desk & finished that conversation with me!

This left such a lasting impression on my mind!

Having read Jeff bezos, Phil knight, Kishore Biyani, Jack ma, the common thread I found was

#greatleaders value opinions that make sense & it may come from anyone & not just someone at the top

Successful people have one thing in common, they never stop asking questions!
