Someone is watching over you!

Manoj & me shared a PG in Kolkatta in the yr 2000. He was a CA aspirant who studied all night & slept through the day

Manoj had a peculiar habit of having someone latch his door from outside during the day

This he said was to avoid the temptation of stepping out

Although an unsafe practice, this helped him focus better he said

The #fooddelivery boy would latch his room everyday mrng after leaving breakfast

Manoj worked as a part time tutor in a coaching center nearby (7-9 pm). One day he lost his job

He broke down that evening narrating how unfair life had been to him

He moved to a relative’s place 30 kms away since he could not afford the PG anymore

The next day when I came back from college I saw fire fighters at our PG

I learned that the portion of the building Manoj was put up at had caught fire that noon & was engulfed completely due to a short circuit

I wondered what would have happened had Manoj still had his job & was sleeping as usual with the door latched from outside

Manoj today wherever he is continues to live #life oblivious of the fact that some higher spirit was watching his back that day

Most of us believe life is unfair when we are dealt poor cards without realizing someone has our best interests in leading us to where we are headed!
