Experience eats pedigree for breakfast!

It was my 1st lunch with our CEO or for that matter with any CEO ever!

In 2014, I had just been promoted to the role of Head #eCommerce & we were discussing how would I shape things up for the next few yrs

We pioneered #onlineinsurance 4 yrs back & it had propelled us to the leadership position in online sales beating the bigger traditional players

We had won the E-business leader award twice in a row!

Over lunch I was recommending to our CEO that we should rope in a #Management consulting firm to chart out a growth strategy

He smiled at my suggestion. When we came back to office he called me to his cabin & showed me a report which was 5 years old!

It was a 5 year plan from one of the biggest consulting firms I had just mentioned!

An 85 page report for which millions of dollars were paid & not one page contained a word about #digital insurance!

He said "If Steve Jobs went to consultants before launching the iPhone, they would have all advised him to add extra buttons on to the iPhone (like blackberries) or face failure"

Nobody knows your business better than you, not even the best consultants
